Atelier Chlup

Atelier Chlup offers a comprehensive range of pre-project, design, and engineering services in the field of public and residential construction, along with interior design and implementation.

Between 2004 and 2005, the southwestern corner of the arboretum was enhanced by Atelier Chlup’s awnings, and a previously unused utility building was transformed into a design office. During the renovation, modifications and layout changes were made to maximize the use of the existing structure and to create flexible spaces, initially serving as a design studio.

A strip window provides all staff with an uninterrupted view of the revitalized arboretum park. Optimal thermal and technical conditions are ensured by a combination of fabric awnings regulating sunlight and a natural ventilation system that draws air from the north side.

The versatility and flexibility of the building are emphasized by the potential to expand its volume by placing modular units on the roof, where structural and installation elements are already in place for this purpose. High-quality interior construction features and building materials simplify maintenance and cleaning. The building was also designed with possible expansion in mind—most recently, it was complemented by a chime of happiness.
